First Post - January 26, 2025
Our founder posted a thread announcing that he was considering launching American Opposition on January 26, 2025. Less than 24 hours later, the organization was born.
National Day of Protest - February 5, 2025
We called for the very first national day of protest on February 5, 2025 and were joined by the organizers that would become 50501, launching the anti-Trump protest movement. Our founder spoke at the rally at the Colorado State Capitol in Denver, Colorado.
Tesla Boycott - January 24, 2025
Our founder was among the first to call for a boycott of Tesla. Elon Musk responded by calling him “evil.”
National Day of Protest - Presidents Day 2025
We called for the second National Day of Protest on February 17, 2025, which became the first “No Kings” protest (when 50501 joined our call, they didn’t want to use our tag—Not My President Day—so they used “No Kings.”). Our founder gave a powerful speech at the U.S. Capitol.
National Day of Protest - March 4, 2025
We joined 50501 and Refuse Fascism for the third National Day of Protest, expanding the movement. Our founder spoke at the Refuse Fascism rally at the U.S. Capitol.
Stand Up for Science Protests - March 7, 2025
We joined the coalition powering the Stand Up for Science protests across the nation. Our founder spoke at the rally at the Colorado State Capitol in Denver, Colorado.
NOW Veterans March - March 14, 2025
We joined a coalition of groups headed by 14th Now! and the Removal Coalition to deliver a major veterans’ demonstration on the National Mall. Our founder gave a rousing speech that went viral and helped expand public awareness of our efforts.
Mass Media March - March 30, 2025
We oversaw the Mass Media March DC at the Fox News studio in Washington, DC. Our presence was reported on by Gutfeld, marking the first time a direct action was covered by Fox News.
Hands Off! - April 5, 2025
We worked in partnership with 50501 to help deliver the “Hands Off!” National Day of Protest on April 5, 2025. It was the first one joined by Indivisible at the national level and the first to deliver over five million attendees nationwide. Our founder spoke at the rally at the Colorado State Capitol in Denver, Colorado.
National Day of Protest - April 19, 2025
We were part of a coalition—led by 50501—that helped deliver a National Day of Protest on April 19, 2025. Our founder joined national leaders from 50501 and spoke at the rally and march at the Colorado State Capitol in Denver, Colorado.
West Hollywood Counterprotest - April 27, 2025
We helped lead the a direct action to counterprotest a Matt Gaetz-led pro-Trump gathering in West Hollywood, California.
D-Day Anniversary Protests - June 6, 2025
Our director of media relations proposed a nation veterans action on the anniversary of D-Day, so we created a partnership with the AFL-CIO’s Union Veterans Council and 50501 Veterans to deliver the largest national veterans demonstration in American history.
Remove the Regime Protest - June 6, 2025
We partnered with Jessica Denson, Cliff Cash, the Removal Coalition, and Mayday Movement to deliver a protest at Union Station. We were joined by Rep. Al Green, Rep. Shri Tanadar, Commander Phil Ehr, and many others.
White House Protest - June 7, 2025
A last-minute direct action at the White House was arranged in partnership with Refuse Fascism which led to one of the most viral speeches our founder has ever given.
No Kings - June 14, 2025
We were part of the coalition that worked to deliver the second No Kings protests (the organizing efforts were led by Indivisible and 50501). The protests were attended by over 13 million Americans nationwide. Our founder helped lead the 250,000 person march through Downtown Los Angeles and spoke to the crowd.
National Day of Protest - July 4, 2025
We called for a national set of protests for the Fourth of July to reclaim our independence, and were joined by Indivisible and 50501 chapters throughout the nation. Our founder spoke in at the Torch of Freedom in Miami at a rally organized by 50501 Miami. His speech was interrupted by Proud Boy leader Enrique Tarrio.
Rage Against the Regime - August 2, 2025
For 50501’s Rage Against the Regime protests, our founder traveled to Wyoming to speak to red state organizers and celebrate their bravery.
NLRB Protest - Labor Day, 2025
In partnership with Flare, the Removal Coalition, Jolly Good Ginger, and others, we led a march from Union Station to the National Labor Relations Board offices where we held a direct action protest for workers’ rights.
Direct Action Launch - September 2, 2025
We joined Flare and the Removal Coalition in organizing a launch protest four our direct action program at Union Station. Our founder spoke alongside Rep. Al Green, who then joined us in a march to the Capitol.
Congressional Office Visits and White House Protest - September 2, 2025
We joined Flare and the Removal Coalition in organizing a direct action in Congress where we visited all congressional offices with 1,400 Americans and then protested at the White House in response to a Trump press conference. We also organized a direct action at the home of Russell Vought.
Direct Action With The Handmaid Army - November 5, 2025
We joined The Handmaid Army, Flare, and the Removal Coalition in organizing a direct action in Congress where we visited all congressional offices and then joined the Refuse Fascism protest and march through Washington, DC calling for the removal of the regime. We also joined a protest at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) organized by Remember your Oath and a protest at the Heritage Foundation organized by Flare featuring The Handmaid Army.
Remove the Regime - November 22, 2025
In partnership with the Removal Coalition, We Are The Flood, Flare, Remember Your Oath, and many others, we will be calling for the immediate impeachment, conviction, and removal of Donald Trump. The three-day program will feature multiple events culminating in a massive rally at our nation’s capital. The rally will feature a performance by The Dropkick Murphys and an all-star lineup of speakers.
Upcoming: MASS BLACKOUT - November 25-December 2, 2025
We joined forces with Black Out The System, Money Out Politics, People’s Sick Day and helped lead a coalition-building effort that united 51 organizations in calling for a Total Economic Blackout from November 25, 2025 to December 2, 2025 in just 72 hours.
